Life after covid19
LIFE AFTER COVID-19
[corona_ticker countries =”South Africa”]
For the previous four months the entire world has been in war with a virus that has already killed over 100 000 people and it has earned a new “an invisible enemy”. Corona virus known as covid19 is spreading across the globe with close to two million cases. Different states across the entire world have put in measures to fight this virus. Economies are taking a lot of strain, businesses are closing down and people are losing jobs. We must take seriously the full impact of Covid19 on our lives because the virus has reshaped how we live and interact with others. Perhaps this is biggest catastrophe of our time.
In South Africa, president Cyril Ramaphosa with his government has locked down the entire country and implemented serious social distancing measures by urging people to stay home besides the entities labelled as essential services.
What we do now is important because it will determine how our future will be in years to come. We have already seen an immense change in our health systems, law administration, our economy and politics.
- Are we going to see the same focus after covi19 or things will go back to how they were.
- When is the government going to stop testing people for covid19?.
- The law enforcements is doing patrols across the country, they doing things such as roadblocks and they have been successfully fighting crime, is this going to change and go back to normal or they will keep the same focus post covid-19?
- What about the homeless people are under the care of the government, is government going to take back their supporting services to the homeless or they will continue?
- The congregations have been holding the sermons over the internet, is this going to just disappear or we will now see the development in how the word of God is taught, again there’s a people who might have given up their belief, is there a program to restore them get their faith back?
- There’s been an immense transformation in businesses. Most people have been able to work from home, are we going to see businesses cancelling this form of working and moving back to the office as if nothing happened?
- What will happen when employees request that they work from home due to Covid19 lockdown experience?
- The restaurants have implemented strict hygienic measures such as hand sanitisers. Is this going to continue for a period or is it going to fade away like it never happened?
- Relationships have been impacted as well and some people on lockdown haven’t spent time with their loved ones, especially when they are used to seeing each other regularly
- Travel and tourism industry has been severely impacted, and this raises a big question of trust amongst nations that have implemented lockdown, they will have to trust that people coming to from foreign countries were tested and they are negative
- There’s been an increase in gender based violent incidents , should we expect a high number of divorces after covid19?
- The political parties seem to speak a comparable language recently. Is this going to change and we will see them becoming what they used to be before covid19?
- What about the individuals who have been arrested due to the covid29 regulations , are they going to live the same lives or they will be regarded as felons?
- Some companies will realise that, there are jobs that are not fundamental to them, are we expecting a huge number of unemployment?
- This virus is going to have an impact on mental wellness , this could lead to an increase in depression because over 100 000 people globally already lost their loved ones , some haven’t been able to spend time with their families and a lot of us are ealing with a social distancing impact .
Hopefully our government has a strategy to resolve some or all of these questions.
